The last week....

Yep.. it is the last week of summer vacation... and how did it start???? Monday I worked all day training new teachers on some of the technology things they will need as they start the year.... more training will come on other things! Today, Tuesday, I ran to WalMart to get stuff to see if I can get my pool back in shape after leaving it too long so that I can enjoy some pool time!!! Monday night I had a worship leadership meeting...tonight I have a streetlight band meeting.. getting ready for the reunion! So pretty much that has taken up the first two days of the last week off!! LOL!!! Gee maybe tomorrow I will clean out cabinets or something relaxing like that!! hahahaha!!!
I haven't been able to see mom in a couple of weeks due to work one week and transportation craziness the other.... I guess she knows we are there when we come.. she usually just sits and sometimes opens her eyes... occasionally we will get her to answer a question...it is sad to see her so weary!
Ashley is still working two jobs and has cleared up some school finances so that she can register for this semester.. now we just hope tonight when she finally gets home that there are classes worth signing up for. I hate it took so long to pull all the money together.. she is driving my Tahoe and hoping to hear replacement info on her car soon so that she can move forward on getting something else.. I know she didn't want to have car payments.. but not sure of other choices!
Andy is still looking for work... today he went to restraunts to see if anyone was hiring.. not first preference but he is going a little stir crazy not having a job for a month!!
I will go back to work next Tuesday... not really ready... but hopefully will be a good year... I did better this summer not overworking myself.. but maybe did too good and enjoying being a lazy bum too much!!
Steve is still working hard at the church... will be glad when that creative pastor is found and comes in ready to lead the people back to being about prayer and community and worshiping together... I miss the days when we had so many people walking in the door to see what was different and finding themselves at the alter making changes in their lives.. I pray for that kind of church again!!! Wouldn't that be awesome... life changing
Ok.. enough blabbering.. must head to the next meeting.. until I think to write again!!

So it is August

Well... here we are in August... and down one more car! Steve went to Nashville last week for conference and while he was gone I got one of those phone calls you dread to get...actually it was a picture message.. even worse... someone ran a red light and hit Ashley's car...she is sore... car is prob totalled.. and a week later the insurance of the other car is saying we are not sure the driver is covered under our insurance! ugh..
Ashley's bday is today... hope to see her this weekend and wish her happy birthday...
Andy and I went to Branson last Friday and caught up with Steve.. we also had Tammie and Robby with us on vacation.. had a really great time riding Go Karts, Rollercoasters and seeing some great shows!!! Time to get away and laugh was awesome!
Almost time for school to start again..... much on our mind with the church needing a pastor... Andy needing a job and car... Ashley now needing a car (she got a second job) and getting Ashley's school money in place so she can get registered again this semester and then transfer to another school next semester..
Hopefully things will calm down a little in our world...

Hello July!

Well here we are in July.... something always seems to be changing around here! We brought in 4th of July trying to go to the tractor pull on Friday night.. but it was rained out before we arrived...so off to Olive Garden we went with Andy and Tiffany. On Saturday we rode bikes down to the new park and watched the Sherman Fireworks show. They did a great job! Sunday was a time of worship and praise in the morning... my heart is burdened for those that are hearing the Word of God and need to make a decision to accept him and make positive changes in their lives... the afternoon was full of friends around the pool! We ate and swam and the guys played a game or two of frisbee golf! Then as night fell the pops of fireworks began!
Kids were chasing parchute fireworks.. then sparklers and I hear a little bit of a roman candle war in the back with the BIG boys! haha.... don't come crying to me if you get hurt silly!!! Then the Weeks' and Friends show began... fountains and big pops ending with an awesome array of color in the sky... of course as always our neighbors were shooting off some pretty stuff too adding to a bright colorful night sky!
Monday was a sleepy sleepy day around our house... long weekend and late night made it hard to get motivated to do much. Andy had to report to work at 6am... that was tough one...
I am waiting to see if my last two tech camps will make at the end of this month. Steve is supposed to travel to Nashville this month for a songwriters conference... and then we are not far from starting another school year.
We didn't get to see Ashley and Alex this 4th.. we missed them.. I guess they were in Monroe, LA for celebrations.
I have a few more days of "vacation" time... so off to enjoy that time!

I am not keeping up!

Guess I am not keeping up with my blog very good! Here we are at summer! I am getting ready for a week of Tech Camp... I took Monday off and have worked the last two days setting up computers. It has been long hot days!
Well.. since my last post Andy has gotten a job at Home Depot and it seems like a pretty good job. Ashley has finished her semester of school really strong and is looking for a job to help supplement her other job that cut her hours back... hopefully something will come up soon!
The church is still looking for a lead pastor.. but hired Lisa as our Children's pastor and some exciting things are happening in Children's area... and Kelly and Taylor have picked up the youth area and lots of kids seem to be coming to that!

I guess I will be spending about 3 weeks of my summer plus a few extra days here and there on tech camp and leading staff development. Steve has a trip planned to Nashville for a singer songwriter conference.. I wish I could go with him!
We have had friends over a couple of times and swim in the pool! I am so thankful to God for the blessing he has given us to share like the pool.. it is fun to throw together lunch and just laugh and have fun with everyone!

I will try and post here more often if anyone wants to see what is going on in the Weeks' family!!!

So much has happened

Can you believe it has been a year since I have posted anything! I can't!
So much has happened in the last year!
After April 2009... hummm... well.. Andy traded in truck and got an audi... School started back up after a busy summer and I added Wakefield to my schools... October was really busy because Andy, Steve and myself worked every weekend at the Haunted House... then November hit when we were going to start building a parade float.. but Nov 20th a car pulled out into the turn lane on Hwy 1417 and Andy in his dad's Mazda were in that turn lane! Completely ruined Steve's car and broke Andy's neck as well as covering his face with glass! He got stitches in his eye... and after being in two ERs.. Andy ended up in a body/neck brace.
Good news is that he got out of the neck brace on December 21st... we went on with Christmas shows and fun stuff!!!
In January... someone rear ended Andy in his audi.. so that had to be repaired.. but this time didn't hurt Andy.
Mammaw passed away in January! That was sad for all of us! We were able to attend the funeral together.
Steve finally found a car in February to replace the Mazda.. he is really enjoying the bright red Dodge Charger!
I guess that almost brings me up to today... last week.. someone decided to come off the Hwy 75 and make a sharp right turn.. problem was they were in left lane.. Andy was in right lane... and he smashed right into them. So today we wait to find out if the audi can be fixed or if it will be replaced by their insurance. We are still waiting on insurance from first accident in November.. it can't ever be easy!!!
The church is going through changes again! We are looking for a Pastor and children's minister and now youth minister... the stress is starting to wear on Steve a little bit!
We are looking forward to Spring and Summer and some fun with friends! Maybe it won't be a year before I post again!!!
