New Year's Eve

It is New Year's Eve...tomorrow we will have to remember to write 2009 on everything we fill out.... what a year it has been! So many great things happening at the church...new people in the worship ministry... gosh it has been a year full... of course lots of other changes in worship too....David went to Branson to sing in one of the shows.. he has done a great job there... Chuck went to Hagerman to lead worship and Robby went to Anna to lead worship...both are doing a fantastic job!!!! We miss all of them! As the year has ended we have lost one of our sound guys, Billy, he will be missed.. still such a shock to all of us!
The end of the year has been REAL busy for us since around October 21st when we began work on the Fall Festival... seems like from there the weeks just ran together until we finished singing Christmas songs on December 13th for the Songs of the Season. The parades, commercial, concert/show all came together so nice with so many people helping out!
On a personal note Ashley got moved back to Denton at the end of July..wasn't long after that her car was broken into...Andy started college at Grayson... and was working at BattsAVI for a while... Ashley had tire problems, Andy had radiator problems and so did Steve... then Andy's transmssion went out on his truck and Steve's rear end went out on his truck... seems those pictures of us working on cars in the driveway became a huge reality yet again!!!Through it all God was good and took care of us.. he sent angels to help us out and provided ways for us to get it all covered... He is so good!
I am looking forward to 2009..... it has been so exciting to see God put things back together at Fairview... and to see some faces that were there before come back to worship with us... like a family reunion... we have missed them too!
Andy is looking for work and will continue in school at Grayson, Ashley is getting back in school at NCTC and continues working as a nanny for now... Steve and I continue serving at Fairview and I am working for the schools in Technology... great things are a head of us!!

Almost 09

Can't believe it is almost the end of another year! What a busy last few months it has been. Starting on about Oct 21st... we began building the big fun house for the Fall Festival.. I also traveled to Boston before Halloween... after that was over and the nearly 2 week tear down we began working on the parade float... with rehearsals also going for the Songs of the Season event.... The parades were fun... we took best of parade in Denison and just had a lot of fun in Sherman... we tore the float down that night and set the church back up the next day... and began looking ahead to the "Songs of the Season" that was another busy week and weekend... Andy was working as a Holiday temp at Academy during all this time too...so he was working 12 hour shifts and getting in at 1am ..... so we were all worn out!!!
So now Christmas has come and gone.... Ashley and Alex came up and celebrated with us... after Christmas Eve lunch we did a Christmas Eve service and then took Andy to Red Lobster for his 19th birthday... then home for gifts... and Santa even had to come early so that we could get Asley and Alex back on the road to Granbury.... I started feeling sick on Christms Eve so I have really stayed down and rested since then... Looking forward to all that is to come in the new year...

Summer is over and School begins.....

Well.. Summer is really over... sometimes it is hard to tell! I think I had a pretty good mix of work versus time off this summer... of course in a perfect world I would take June through August off....but I don't see that happening any time soon!
It has been a busy week! Sunday at church was awesome! Worship was just that so much worship!!!
Monday started out at our house with no water in the neighborhood... that was no fun... we all did what we could to freshen up and head off to work!
I think it was Tuesday morning that started off with Andy's semi-new radiator leaking...so Steve has been dealing with trying to get a replacement for that all week.. of course.. the company that sold it to us....sold their company... soooooo....
Andy got registered for college and will start next week! He has been working more than full time and that doesn't sound like it will change much...so he is having to pray about what he needs to do as far as work is concerned... time to focus on school!
Ashley has been working at her new job for I guess 3 weeks now... she gets to take the kids on school clothes shopping trips and hair appointments... I guess that is a little more fun than chasing around 29 three year olds!!
Steve is preparing for a trip to Cuba in November.... there is much to pray on there! Of course just praying for the group and the people they will encounter...
praying for funds to be available for all to travel... and now praying for the trip to still be available to them... seems with changes in government come changes in the ability to get mission groups into the country.
I am starting a new job this year... still in Technology.. but taking on 5 schools this year and some new software... so I will have my hands full for a while!
I have been asked to come make a presentation for one of our Vendors... so looks like I may get to travel to Boston in October.
We have many activities ahead of us at church! Fall Festival....parades floats... Christmas shows... it will be a busy fourth quarter... but we are looking forward to reaching out and giving back to our community.

Pretty Weekend

Well.. it has been another pretty weekend!
We have been using our weekend time to get the backyard ready for upcoming gatherings to swim and play.
The backyard is starting to look pretty again.. it is always nice when the plants are coming up and the flowers are getting planted.
Ashley came up the last two weekends.. she and Andy got me pretty cut flowers.. they are so pretty... still pretty! and then the other pots of flowers they all got me are going out around the pond! I am excited.
Andy has gone to two proms over the last couple of weeks. He looked really sharp both times... now just hanging on till graduation.

It is an awesome beautiful day.. but just couldn't bring myself to stay out in it.. too tired from being up till 3:15 this morning waiting for the kids to get home from Prom.
Seems like everytime you turn around there is car trouble... or something just needs replacing... Ashley's car needed tires.. Andy had a flat that couldn't be repaired..now he has a brake or something that is broke... always something!
Summer is almost here...but things will just get busier...Ashley will be moving out of her apartment in at the end of the month... I will be gearing up for Tech Camp and some conferences...and our band will be playing GA camp in June... much much busier... more later!

What a pretty day!!!

Gosh I wanted to be out in the sunshine today so bad!!! It was toasty warm!
Last week on Tuesday, Andy was driving his truck home when the transfer case or something broke... the garage told us it would be $3500 to fix.. well.. we brought it home and Steve and Andy have been working on it all weekend.. and guess what...it is back on the road!! Yeah God!!!! They did have to replace the transfer case and a couple of small things.. and everything else hopefully will wait till later! We are so pleased!
We are tired... we have been running pretty much nonstop for a while and I think it is catching up with us... but gosh.. things have been so awesome! So much is going on at the church.. it is awesome to see the prayer and growth that is taking place in the people!
Summer is going to be busy! We hope to take at least a week off and go to Branson and catch David singing.. and maybe a little rollercoaster riding at Silver Dollar City and Celebration City!
but before all that... Andy has prom... and graduation.. gosh!!! Ashley will be moving out of her apartment and looking for a new place to live.. and we will be leading worship at GA camp.. and I will be putting together 3 weeks of Technology Camp...
Count down to the weekend!! I am looking forward to some fun in the sun getting the backyard pretty!!! More soon on the butterflies that we are already seeing in the backyard! Check out my myspace for last years pretty butterflies!

And now it is April

Well... not much to write about lately! Seems we have all been sick with this cough and congestion since Spring break and we can't get rid of it!
Spring is here.. and the grass...no make that weeds are growing tall but our lawn mower won't work.... we started working on the pool...but got to get back on that...seems the sick has slowed us down a bit!
Andy will graduate soon.... Ashley will be moving to another apartment soon... and I will begin on my summer work very soon.
I hope to get all the flowers in and the grass mowed and the swimming pool pretty so I can start putting pics up soon... I am already seeing many large butterflies looking for flowers and peaches again this year.. that is exciting! Hopefully we will see lots more of htose!
Until later!

Texas Snow!!

Can you believe it snowed so big in Texas? The snow was awesome! Huge flakes!!!
Monday night was lots of fun to watch... but we didn't really get to play on Tuesday... but today when the snow came in...we knew we would have to get out in it fast!
School let out at 2pm... I didn't leave Perrin until 3... but it took me over an hour and a half to drive home... Steve and Andy were out helping people get unstuck and checking on Tim and Rachel's dogs! It was crazy!!!

Great Day

What another beautiful day!
Ashley came in last night to show us her ring... it is a promise ring from Alex...she got it for Valentine's Day... it is very pretty...she got it cleaned and resized today! We had a nice family dinner at Olive Garden...we laughed and talked.. that was nice....Today.. just started slow.. went to get groceries and a few things for cleaning the pool... that always puts the bill up a bit... then just cooked a pot roast and hung around the house.
After Ashley left I tried out the new pool net and started digging leaves from the pool.... I never think we have trees in our yard until that starts.. gosh.. what a mess!
Andy is doing good in school... and he seems to be enjoying his new job! I guess now he has to decide what the summer will hold after graduation! Looks like there is an opportunity for him to go to Enland on mission trip.. but we are all praying for how the funds will work out on that.... we will also all be playing at GA camp again this year and are looking forward to that... it is really a neat week of connecting with the girls there and also with the guys in the band...
I am looking ahead to summer.. lots of things going on... maybe a trip to San Antonio for another convention... 3 weeks of Tech Camp and maybe even a trip to Branson...
more later

What a day...

What a beautiful day! I took the cat out on a leash... I am just thinking it is so pretty outside I couldln't stand her missing out when we were all out there! haha! Chuch was awesome.. 5 people baptised today...tooo cool!
It has been so neat to have people sharing how God has been using them...our Sunday school lessons have really been challenging us to share and be a witness...to get out of our comfort zone and share our faith...and time after time the stories keep coming from people that wouldn't normally want to lead out...or to share... how God has called them to step out and lead in prayer or bible study...and they are doing it... God is so good!!!
It has been good to see old friends come back to Fairview... I can't wait to see what God is going to do next!!
Andy has started a new job... he seems to really like the opportunities it gives him to work with things he loves like lights and sound systems...
Ashley is finishing up her first year in Denton... what a crazy year it has been!
I guess I am already counting down the days for summer to get here... haha... summer will be busy.. but I love getting outside and in the pool....
more later...

Things are good!

Hey! Things are good here! The start of the new year has been busy as always! Chuch has been awesome... the worship and the outreach is better than I have seen just about anywhere.. thank you God for watching over us and bring such healing and desires to reach out as a church family!
Andy is finishing up his senior year and Ashley is starting another semester of college....
My job has been busy too... lots of new applications have kept all of us working hard... next year will prove to be crazy.... two new schools opening... I will have to move out with Perrin...don't know yet where I will end up...
It has been good to see old friends and restore relationships that had been stressed and pulled.... we have learned so much from the mistakes that were made.. and now so many are looking again for a place to worship and a place to build relationships...I pray for those that are still hurting!
I will be making my annual trip to TCEA and making presentations again this year so I have been working on that!
More on what is going on later!
